Royal Brothers - Bikes For Rent
Your trusting partner in your riding adventures....
They say, four wheels move the body and two wheels move the soul….whatever it is, it’s better in the wind!
Have you ever felt the dire need of a drop-off to the train station to catch a night train?
Have you felt that it was a mistake to bring your car amidst the whining traffic to pick your friend for a movie and you rather wished you had a two wheeler as a back-up transport just in case? How about going late to office on an important date due to your car being stuck in traffic?
All your worries are heard and they will probably end! Royal Brothers, a bike rental start-up from Bengaluru have launched their latest addition to their business: Self -ride Honda Activa mopeds for hire in our city. The highlight now is that they have launched their services in Mysuru, Udupi, Mangalore, Belgaum and Manipal.
Royal Brothers was founded by three young engineers of Bengaluru; T.N Manjunath, who teaches Mechanical Engineering at R.V College of Engineering, Abhishek Chandrashekar, who is a freshly passed out Mechanical Engineer from the same Institution and Srikrishna, a software engineer by profession.
Manjunath saw an opportunity in the passion and craze people possessed towards riding Royal Enfield motorcycles. Premium costs of these bikes made him think of a solution so that anybody who wishes to could ride these beastly bikes without owning them. The result was Royal Brothers, started initially to rent out only Royal Enfield Motorcycles. Manjunath says the entire credit of Royal Brothers being operational on the roads goes to Mr.Ravi Kumar.P, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Transport and Power, Govt of Karnataka. “The major hurdle was to get an official nod from the RTO to operate self-ride motorcycles as these never even existed and there was no provision in their online system to incorporate one. The process like any other, was affected largely by delays and running around. When this seemed like an impossible task, Mr.Ravi Kumar, came as a life saver, who took up our case by himself. Greatly appreciating the uniqueness and potential of the start-up, Mr.RaviKumar speeded up the formalities and other documentation that was required for the self-ride licence to be given to Royal Brothers. His intention as a bureaucrat was to encourage entrepreneurship in young minds and to support innovative ideas which could help our country in the future. Since then, there was no looking back and Royal Brothers became the first bike rental start-up to get such a licence in South India. We are grateful to Ravi sir for his support and appreciation”.
Since the success of Royal Brothers, the company has decided to add another feather to their Royal cap by introducing self-ride Honda Activa mopeds, mainly for city commute. These mopeds will be made available in numerous parking points across Bengaluru, Mysuru and Manipal so that a moped picked up at one parking point need not be dropped back at the same parking point. “This is one of the main catches in our new initiative. If you need to catch a night train to your native, then you do not have to ask anybody to drop you off at the train station or struggle getting a cab, instead you can hire our Activa Moped, drop it off at our parking point near the train station and get on the train without any worries” says Manjunath.
Using these bikes is simple: Register your name and driver’s license in the company’s official website, select the bike, the duration of rent and a pick-up point feasible to you. Then you can just pay the money for the rent through an online transaction and ride off the bikes. The introductory prices for Honda Activa mopeds is set at Rs. 17 an hour, which is very attractive and affordable.
